This is real! Medivis are the proud creators of the first FDA Cleared augmented reality surgical support platform. SurigcalAR visualizes a 3D holographic rendering of a patient's anatomy and maps it to them in real time. Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld has a video of SurgicalAR in action here.

• We launched our first developer tool on the Unity Asset Store. We have soooo many XR tools your devs can use even if you don’t work with us. Our first release is a Light/Dark Mode toggle to adjust contrast based on lighting conditions. Fun fact: we developed this feature so pilots could use our Katana app (and actually see the content) while in the cockpit which can be blindingly bright or pitch dark.

One through five are good general XR standards, and not unlike the XR version of web standards, 6 and 7 are ones you don't have to worry about in web dev world. Our first developer tool supports AR accessibility as well and it's free.

• Evaluating the Meta Quest for Enterprise Use. XR Today breaks down when the Meta Quest can work for enterprise orgs. The reason (well one of them) we don't see more XR adoption in Enterprise is because the dominant headsets use pass-through VR, not a see-through visor. For most companies, this means it can only be used for training which is a small percentage of an employee's time.

• The Hololens 2 Post-Mortem. Our dream headset would Frankenstein together: see-through not pass-through, no umbilical cord, be made in the USA, and have at least 6 hrs of battery life.
